Diet Pictures can be a way to motivate yourself and help you stay on your diet. There are basically two types of motivation: “positive” and “negative”. You may have heard these referred to as positive and negative reinforcement.
The first thing you need to do is discover when it comes to fitness, diet, and looking good, are you motivated by positive or negative reinforcement. About 80% of people are positively motivated with the balance being motivated by negative stimuli. Note that it will vary from what you are trying to motivate yourself to do. For instance, if you didn’t want to fail a class, the motivation might be considered to fear of failure – negative motivation. On the other hand, if you desire to get an A in the course, you would be motivated in a positive way.
How To Use Pictures To Motivate Your Diet
Applied to dieting the method goes like this: For Positive reinforcement, pick out pictures of people you would like to look like or even older pictures of yourself taken when you were how want to look. If you are negatively motivated you would use pictures of yourself being fat and out of shape. A common method for negative motivation with pictures for dieting is to stick an ugly fat looking picture of yourself on the refrigerator – to stop you from eating.

Make sure you understand how you are motivated. Remember, the odds are that are positively motivated. Putting a fat and disturbing picture on the refrigerator – when you are “positively” motivated – will likely have the reverse effect of making you feel depressed and uninspired to diet. You would probably end up taking the picture down and going back to your nasty ‘ole eating habits and overweight life style…So BE CAREFUL!
